First-time Contact Lens Wearers

If you’re new to wearing contact lenses, don’t worry – The Eye Studio is here to help you achieve a successful and comfortable contact lens experience. You can start preparing in the comfort of your own home by watching the above training video, which will teach you how to be comfortable working around your eyes. When you come in for your appointment, our experienced team will guide you through the training process in person.

After the initial fitting, we’ll have you return for a contact lens assessment so that we can make any necessary changes in fit or materials to ensure you get the best possible result. At The Eye Studio, we take pride in teaching all of our patients proper contact lens care to ensure clear, comfortable, and safe vision.

Monovision

If you’re looking for another option for presbyopia besides multifocal contact lenses, monovision contact lenses may be a great choice for you. With monovision, we correct your dominant eye to see better at a distance and relax your non-dominant eye to improve near vision. This technique is particularly effective for early presbyopes.

Bifocal/Multifocal Contact Lenses

As we age, it’s normal to experience presbyopia – the need to hold reading materials farther away in order to see clearly. However, this doesn’t have to be the end of wearing contact lenses.

The Eye Studio offers bifocal/multifocal contact lenses that are specifically designed to help those over age 40 see clearly at all distances. With multifocal contact lenses, you may even be able to say goodbye to reading glasses altogether. These lenses are not directionally sensitive, which means you don’t have to look down in order to see things at near. This feature is particularly useful for individuals who spend a lot of time looking up, such as mechanics or electricians, or whose computer monitors are straight ahead. So, don’t let presbyopia stop you from enjoying the freedom and convenience of contact lenses – come see us at The Eye Studio to learn more about bifocal/multifocal options.

Scleral Lenses

For people with corneal conditions such as irregular corneas or severe dry eye, scleral contact lenses can be a game-changer. These lenses are custom-fit to your eyes, providing improved vision and comfort. Unlike traditional contact lenses, scleral lenses are made of a permeable lens material and are larger in size, fitting on the white part of your eye (the sclera) rather than the front (the cornea). This larger size allows for greater comfort and clearer vision. Dr. Holtom can help determine if scleral lenses are the right option for you, particularly if you have astigmatism, keratoconus, or dry eyes.
