Nancy grew up in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and attended school in Saskatchewan, Canada and the US.
She decided to work in optometry due to Dr. Jack Sugarman and his love of Optometry! She started an apprentice program when she was 19 years old, working in his frame studio and taking correspondence courses.
Prior to joining The Eye Studio over 15 years ago she was a small business owner. Nancy has used her past experience to work in all areas of our office, but over the last 10 years vision therapy has become her focus and her calling.
She is an accredited Vision Therapist having completed the PVTAP and Optometric Extension Programs. Through various education bodies, she has received training in treating brain injury and concussions, learning related vision problems, Autism spectrum disorders, Strabismus and amblyopia. In 2021, Nancy was nominated for vision therapist of the year.
Nancy is a mother of three boys, granny of five, and wife of 1. She enjoys traveling with her husband, watching her sons play sports and is looking forward to watching her grandchildren do the same. She also enjoys yoga, crafting, and gardening. Nancy is a consummate reader and loves to keep learning.
